We compete in the Kineton District League alongside 14 other local clubs. These matches usually take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with an occasional Saturday. All members (experienced and new) who express a wish to play in matches will have the opportunity to participate across the season.
We compete in the Pickering League which is made up of local clubs split into 3 leagues. In 2026, Wellesbourne will play in Division 2, having secured promotion in 2025.. Matches take place on a Wednesday afternoon.
In 2026, we are re-entering The Stratford Herald Ladies League in which we will complete on Friday evenings against local teams in Division 3
These are played against local and touring teams. They are an excellent opportunity for newer bowlers to get a taste of competition in a relaxed environment.
We run a number of internal club competitions during the season which all members can participate in. They culminate in a Finals Weekend in September.
We also have two Gala Cup Competitions open to all members - the John McKenzie Trophy and the Whitehouse Cup.
Members also have the opportunity and are encouraged to enter national. Warwickshire, South Warwickshire and Kineton League cups and competitions on behalf of the Club.
We have a few members who play for the County.
Friday night is club night when members (and friends/family) gather, play and get to know each other in a relaxed & non-competitive environment. The bar is also open!
We also hold weekly practice matches for those members who want to compete but do not yet feel ready for the league teams.
Our club coaches run regular sessions throughout the season for members who are looking to improve their bowling skills.
Members can use the green for roll-ups on any day during the season, even when matches are on if rinks are available. We also positively encourage members to bring guests who want to try the game.
