We compete in the Kineton District League alongside 14 other local clubs. These matches usually take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with an occasional Saturday. Each club puts out a team of 12 players who compete against each other across 3 rinks. All members (experienced and new) who express a wish to play in matches will have the opportunity to participate across the season.
We also compete in the Pickering League which is made up of local clubs split into 3 leagues. In 2025, Wellesbourne will play in Division 3. Each club puts out a team of 9 players who compete against each other across 3 rinks. Matches take place on a Wednesday afternoon.
These are played against local and touring teams. They are an excellent opportunity for newer bowlers to get a taste of competition in a relaxed environment.
In 2025 and to celebrate our Centenary, we will also have a number of matches against visiting teams, including from Bowls England.
We run a number of internal club competitions during the season which all members can participate in. They culminate in a Finals Weekend in September.
Friday night is club night when members (and friends/family) gather, play and get to know each other in a relaxed & non-competitive environment. The bar is also open!
Members can use the green for roll-ups on any day during the season, even when matches are on if rinks are available. We also positively encourage members to bring guests who want to try the game.
National and Warwickshire county organisations run an extensive programme of competitions which club members can enter if they wish. We have a few members who play for the County. We also enter teams into competitions and gala events run across the County.
