Play Lawn Bowls at Wellesbourne

We welcome new and experienced bowlers and members.

Are you looking to try a new sport with the added benefit of widening your social life? Or maybe you just want to widen your social life and have a bit of fun. Either way, a warm welcome awaits all visitors to our friendly club.

Lawn bowls is a sport for all which caters for all ages and abilities. It is one of the most inclusive sports where disabled bowlers can compete with or against non-disabled bowlers in most situations. Here are 5 great reasons to give it a try:

  1.  Playing bowls is very doable. Whatever your physique, bowls is a sport for everybody and it will help improve your fitness levels and mental wellbeing.
  2. Bowls is not expensive. To get going you don’t need lots of new kit and clubs put on taster sessions for free. Even when you get the bug, a set of bowls and joining a club dost not cost much at all.
  3. After football, bowls has the second highest number of clubs in the country. With so many places to play, it’ll take no time at all to get to a bowls club close to your home.
  4. Compared to most sports, age and gender differences have less of an effect on a game of bowls, so it’s a perfect sport to spend time and enjoy a bit of friendly competition with your family.
  5. Bowls clubs are sociable places full of people looking to have fun, so bowls is a great way to relax, make new friends and feel part of your local community.

If that appeals to you, drop us a line below and we can put you in touch with a member for a taster session. Better still, pop along to the Club on a Friday evening from mid-April to mid-September as that's when we hold our social evening. You'll find club members more than willing to introduce you to the game - and within 5 minutes you'll be guaranteed to be bowling your first bowl - then you'll be hooked.

The only thing you need to get started is flat soled shoes. It really is that simple.

We also have a qualified Club Coach to support new and experienced players.

Club membership fees for 2025 are:

Full member - £90 (reduced to £45 for the first year)
